Our History
The South Australian wine region - renowned for the full-bodied grape flavours attributed to the unique growing conditions of the climate – is home to some of the most prestigious and coveted wines on the global market. With a reputation for excellence and quality, South Australia is home to not only some of the world’s most recognisable wine varieties, but also some of Australia’s oldest vineyards.
Driven by an influx of over two hundred returned servicemen taking advantage of the Government’s Soldier Settlement Scheme, works began in the Berri Irrigation Area in 1919 to clear scrubland, making way for concrete channelling, vermin proof fencing and ten-thousand-gallon water tanks which would mark the humble beginnings of the Riverland Wine Region. Originally planned between 1918 and 1919, the small township of Glossop became a centrepiece of the Government scheme, when it was realised returning soldiers would require work and rehabilitation.

Old Vine Grenache
This beautifully decadant full-bodied wine features garnet colours and a luxuriant cherry hue which imparts richness, warmth and finesse. Made from vines which were planted in the 1920's, the attractive perfume and deep flavours are overlaid on a supple palate, finishing with a velvety texture of good, even length. Pairs well with Quail, Lamb and softly flavoured dark game meats.
Fortified Grenache
The exceptional vibrance and fruit expressions of this wine are perfumed with light confection notes and accentuated by seductive sweetness and a lingering finish. Perfect as a fire-side Winter treat or paired with a Summer fruit salad.
Fortified Muscat
Richly coloured with light cherry hues, the distinctive dark rose and potpourri aromas of the Muscat grape variety highlight a smooth, seductive and inviting palate, bringing this wine to life. Perfectly pairs with rich chocolate desserts, blue cheese and fruit platters, or as a fire-side treat in winter.
